Continue reading Site: Upgrade and Minor Changes Happy 1st birthday, Pandacan1011.com! This blog was first conceptualized a long time ago, but the idea materialized just last year with the help of close friends who share the same vision and objectives. The site started at pandacan.wordpress.com (site still exists), and the first retroactive entry was dated June 01, 2008. The regular posting began weeks later. The first commenter outside our circle was Simon Makabayan.The domain name was purchased months later and the rest is history. This is for Pandaqueños who are now living abroad. The video above (sorry, I’m not expert in making videos) shows the awesome bright lights of Nagtahan bridge going to Pandacan. This is the route from Sta. Mesa/Quezon City/Sampaloc going to our town. The lights were installed – if I’m not mistaken – late last year. Watch the clip and pay attention to the railings of the bridge, the lights will change their colors! Want to know what’s next when you reach the foot of the bridge? Two weeks ago, Mang Tony Santos of Samahang Sining at Kultura ng Pilipinas(SSKPil) met with some members of this site to discuss a few important things about Pandacan. One of those is the upcoming Pandacan Day next month – May 30, 2009. Mang Tony has been encouraging various Pandacan groups to join the Grand Parade dubbed as “Lakbayan sa Pandacan”.
