Pasig River run to benefit Pandacan

An “advocacy” fun run aimed to clean up Pasig River and Pandacan is set on November 20, 2011. The event which includes sports personalities such as the AZKALS, Volcanoes, and the Philippine Dragon Boat team, is open to everyone. The registration starts on September 10, 2011 for the 3K, 5K, and 10K categories.

The “11-20-2011 Run for the Pasig River” hopes to raise P20 million for the rehabilitation of the historic river and Pandacan, PhilStar reports.

Pandacan’s Teatro Balagtas and the unique and contemporary play “Balagtasin” which they staged several times the past few months in our town, were in the national news after receiving positive review from GMA News the other day.

Manila Medical Mission in Brgy 844

The city of Manila will be holding a FREE medical mission in Baranggay 844 Zone 92 (Obesis Street) in Pandacan, Manila as a part of its Medical Outreach Program.  Baranggay Official Kgd. Hansel De Villa added the following details: “free eye, dental & other medical check-up…. w/ free xray din on wheels (ung mga moving xray na nasa van, for dogs free anti-rabbies and massage & hair-cut… may medicine din ipamimigay kaso di ko alam what covers ng gamot for free… this is in cooperation with the city of Manila office (Mayor Alfredo Lim) & the barangayan… in-line na rin with Chairman Eddie S. Tojon’s birthday this August 8…”
