Former Manila Mayor Lito Atienza is against them saying the district and the city could benefit more if Pandacan becomes a commercial zone instead of industrial. He had ordered depot shut down when he was in the office. Meanwhile, the incumbent Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim sees nothing wrong with the current setup — he reversed Atienza’s policies and allowed the depot to stay. Atienza will run for mayoralty post this May, vowing to “renew” the city. Earlier this month, he announced his masterplan for Manila, in which he envisions Pandacan to become the next Rockwell (Makati) or Eastwood (Quezon City). More after the jump….
