On May 29, 2010, Joey Ayala at ang Bagong Lumad performed at Liwasang Balagtas in Pandacan. The event is one of the attractions of the 2nd annual Pandacan Day to be celebrated May 30, 2010.
The event started at around 8PM hosted by the winners of Mr. and Ms. Pandacan which was held during the feast of Sto. Nino de Pandacan last January.
The show was opened by SSKP Dancers who practiced for five (5) days at Robinson’s Otis and performed earlier that afternoon.
Despite technical glitches, Joey Ayala at ang Bagong Lumad carried on with the show and even praised SSKP Dancers who interpreted the songs including “Agila”.
The audience got more engaged in the performance when Joey Ayala invited them to participate. The ethnic singer drew more cheers and applause when he included “Pandacan” in the lyrics in one of his songs. Near the end, people of all ages were already dancing to the beat.
Because of this unique experience, Joey Ayala expressed his desire to perform again in the 300th anniversary of Pandacan in the year 2012.
So, take note of that SSKP!
