About This Site

UPDATE [August 2010]: Pandacan1011.com is now known as MyPandacan.com. “My Pandacan, Your Pandacan … connecting residents using technology

——–

Pandacan1011.com – or simply 1011 – is a community website run by a group of friends born and raised in Pandacan. The site aims to be an interactive channel that will connect the past, current, and will-be residents of our town.

1011 was conceptualized several years ago, but was realized only in mid-2008, when the founding publisher Kiko officially launched the website.

1011 provides aggregated news about Pandacan and neighboring districts, as well as selected news in and out of the country. Through the experiences of Pandacan-born site authors, Pandacan1011 is able to deliver original contents that bring nostalgia to its avid readers. 1011 also uses emerging technologies to do its best in: providing an accessible platform for unbiased topics; promoting local businesses and cultural events; featuring remarkable citizens, landmarks and places — to increase the awareness and civic involvement of local and future residents.

This blog was launched on June 01, 2008. Although we intend to talk about everything and anything about Pandacan, this site is not the official website of our district.

If you don’t know it yet, 1011 is the zipcode of Pandacan. Don’t ever forget it when you are mailing a letter.

Scope and Limitations

The articles here will be everything about Pandacan: news, people, events, local businesses, politics, everything! We can even rant about our water condition, flooding, neighbors… as long as it related to our district, it is fine. However, we can also discuss something beyond Pandacan, and we’ll categorize the topics as “NOT Pandacan”.

Categories

There are 14 pre-determined categories in this site. However, they will only appear in the sidebar once there is a post under it. We may or may not announce an addition of a category.
